We love Macarons!

So much so we launched our super cute Animal Macarons this year and they have been so successful they keep selling out! Our super talented designer, Linda came up with this idea and perfected them with her wonderful kawaii faces.
Here’s some interesting Macaron facts!
Did you know that the name ‘Macaroon’ comes from the Italian word maccarone which means ‘paste’ and refers to the soft filling sandwiched between the two outer shells.
Macarons have been produced in the Venetian monasteries since the 8th century AD.
During the Renaissance, French queen Catherine de’ Medici’s Italian pastry chefs made them and she brought them with her to France in 1533 upon marrying Henry II of France.
Macaroons are the most expensive cookies in the world. The iconic Parisian pastry chef Pierre Hermé, where one could easily end up paying as much as $7,000 for a box of bespoke macaroons!
March 20th is National Macaron Day, the biggest macaron event of the year!
